What is TuiNa?
TuiNa, is a form of Traditional Chinese Massage technique that focuses on meridians and acupoints, it often used in conjunction with acupuncture, moxibustion, fire cupping, Chinese herbalism, tai chi, and qigong.
TuiNa techniques utilizes soft tissue manipulation, acupoints, external herbal medicines, therapeutic exercise, and structural realignment methods to treat variety of musculoskeletal and internal organ disorders.
How Does TuiNa Work?
In traditional Chinese Medicine, it is believed that when Qi flow is disturbed anywhere in the body, the imbalance of Qi can cause pain, stiffness, sickness, and even emotional pain. TuiNa (massage) techniques can help improve and balance the flow of Qi.
Scientifically, TuiNa (massage) can help exercise and stretch weak, tight and/or atrophied muscles. It helps reduce muscle tension by improving circulation, promote tissue regeneration, and enhance immunity by stimulating the lymph flow. During the treatment, the right pressure triggers the body to release endorphins (the body’s natural painkiller); it helps reduce spasms, pains and cramps.
TuiNa is great treatment for:
Acute or Chronic neck, shoulder, and back pain, sciatica pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, headaches, tennis or golf elbow, TMJ issues, fibromyalgia, Menstrual cramps, and to reduce stress.
